Instagram

Prerequisites

• Meta for Developers account
• Instagram business account linked to your Facebook page
• Facebook ad account ID (this will be used to set up Instagram as a source in xGen)
• Instagram Graph API connected to your Facebook app
• Facebook Instagram OAuth reference

Steps to Set Up Instagram as a Source

1. Navigate to Sources and click on + New source.
2. On the Set up the source page, select Instagram from the Source type dropdown list.
3. Provide a name for your source.
4. Enter the Access Token generated through the Graph API Explorer or via an app created on Facebook with the necessary permissions:
   • instagram_basic
   • instagram_manage_insights
   • pages_show_list
   • pages_read_engagement
5. (Optional) Specify the Start Date in the format YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ssZ. Data generated after this date will be synced. If left blank, the start date defaults to 2 years before the current date.
6. Click Set up source to complete the process.

Supported Sync Modes

The Instagram source connector offers the following synchronization modes:

• Full Refresh – Overwrite
• Full Refresh – Append
• Incremental – Append
• Incremental – Append + Deduped
