Facebook Pages
Requirements
To configure the Facebook Pages source connector with xGen, you’ll need to create a Facebook App and obtain both a long-lived Page access token and the Facebook Page ID.
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Configure Facebook Pages
- Register as a Facebook Developer
Create a developer account by following the steps provided in the official Facebook documentation.
- Create a Facebook App
When prompted, select “Company” as the app purpose. Complete the form and proceed to the “Connect a User Page” step.
- Link a Facebook Page
- Choose your app under the Meta App field.
- Select your Facebook Page under the User or Page field.
- Grant the following permissions to your app:
pages_read_engagement
pages_read_user_content
pages_show_list
read_insights
- Generate an Access Token
Follow the instructions to create an access token for your app.
- Obtain a Long-Lived User Access Token
- Create a Long-Lived Page Access Token
Configuring the Facebook Pages Connector in xGen
To complete the integration:
- Navigate to the Set up the source page
- Assign a name to your Facebook Pages connector
- Select Facebook Pages from the Source type dropdown
- Enter the Long-Lived Page Access Token in the Page Access Token field
- Provide the Page ID in the relevant field
- Tip: If your Facebook page URL is
